We will occasionally stud out some of our Standard and Premium Males (Sires) to outside Females (Dams) of High Quality and Interesting, Traits and Characteristics. All such Females (Dams) must conform to the A.K.C. Breed Standard and be free of what we consider to be Genetic Defaults or Un-desirable Characteristics. They must be at least two years of age having a qualifying O.F.A. Hips, Stifles’ as well as Cleared C.E.R.F. and Dentition Certificate. Sometimes we may even ask for MRD Testing (Un-common Lines). A Broad Spectrum DNA test will be performed to establish identity of the Female and cross referenced with both the A.K.C. and A.S.C.A. also to check for abnormal triggers and changes. A health certificate must also be given and S.T.D. testing completed, including Brucellosis with negative results.

We will board the Female (Dam) here at Southbark throughout the fertile period of her breeding cycle. Female (Dam) owner shall provide the dam’s regular food. Our stud service will consist of natural breeding, unless dam owner wishes to pay for Artificial Insemination. We will provide up to three mating ties at 24-48 hour intervals if the dam is willing. We strongly suggest the use of ovulation timing to determine the best date to breed your Female (Dam). We will perform a dual view X-ray to confirm pregnancy around forty days at onset of skull calcification. We will provide repeat stud service to this same dam at her next heat cycle if less than two live puppies are whelped as a result of this mating. A Southbark Stud Service breeding contract will be in place and signed. Fee’s will be charged and paid upfront prior to any breeding.
